Award-winning journalist Uriel Heilman is widely recognized today as one of the rising stars among reporters covering the Middle East. As Managing Editor for the Jewish Telegraphic Agency (JTA) and as a senior reporter for the Jerusalem Post, Mr. Heilman's stories on Israel's conflict with the Palestinians, Ethiopian immigration to Israel, the Arab world, and the Jewish Diaspora illuminate complex issues fraught with controversy but crucial to understanding the future of Israel and the Jewish people. The recipient of five awards from the American Jewish Press Association, Mr. Heilman's cogent analyses help shape the debates about the issues of the day.

Mr. Heilman currently is JTA's Managing Editor, where he coordinates the Jewish news agency's domestic and international coverage. Mr. Heilman also has served as bureau chief for the Jerusalem Post, where he was awarded the 2006 Boris Smolar Award for Excellence in Investigative Reporting for a series of stories on Ethiopian immigration to Israel, news editor at the JTA, where his coverage earned him two awards from the American Jewish Press Association, and as a reporter for the Forward, where Mr. Heilman was honored with a prize from the Society of Professional Journalists. Mr. Heilman has reported from Israel, the United States, Europe, South America, and Africa.

A frequent guest on television and radio programs, Mr. Heilman lectures to audiences around the world about the issues he covers.
